Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Chow graduated from the William S. Richardson School of Law and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar Association in 1981.  Mr. Chow concentrates in commercial, civil and personal injury litigation, as well as construction law.  He also does a substantial amount of arbitration and mediation work.

Mr. Chow was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the William S. Richardson School of Law from 1998 - 2004, where he taught pretrial litigation and procedure.  Mr. Chow has also given lectures and legal seminars on personal injury litigation for attorneys, insurance companies and other trade groups.

Mr. Chow has been extensively involved with the Hawaii Court Annexed Arbitration Program (”CAAP”) since 1987.  In 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2003, he served as a panelist for the Statewide CAAP Arbitrators’ Conference.  In addition, he has served as a private arbitrator on numerous matters relating to no-fault, uninsured motorist and under insured motorist disputes.

Tanoue

Mr. Tanoue was a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Edward H. Nakamura, of the Hawaii State Supreme Court.  He started his career working in insurance coverage and insurance defense litigation with Matsui, Chung, Sumida & Chang.  He later worked in the Department of the Corporation Counsel of the City and County of Honolulu.  His duties there included heading the appellate section and the trials division, and advising various municipal agencies.  He later became a partner at Tanoue & Tanaka, where he specialized in insurance coverage, insurance defense litigation, and appellate practice, before becoming one of the shareholders and directors of The Pacific Law Group.

Mr. Tanoue was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the William S. Richardson School of Law, where he taught a class on pretrial litigation and procedure.  He has lectured on various law topics as an instructor at the Japan-America Institute of Management Science and is a frequent lecturer on insurance and tort law at seminars benefiting professional and lay organizations.  He is active in high school debate, and has served as the debate coach for Iolani School since September 1994 and has been a judge for the Hawaii Speech League since 1979.

Kutaka

Prior to joining The Pacific Law Group, Ms. Kutaka served a five-year term as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Gary W.B. Chang at the First Circuit Court where she assisted the judge with the civil motions calendar, settlement conference calendar, and the trial calendar.  Ms. Kutaka also serves on the committee for the State of Hawaii’s Judiciary Law Clerk Seminar.

When Ms. Kutaka was in law school, she received the Witkin Award for excellence in legal writing.  She also interned with the Late John S.W. Lim at the Intermediate Court of Appeals and with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii.

Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ms. Kutaka obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration focusing on Human Resource Management with a Minor in Speech.  While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, Ms. Kutaka’s accomplishments included being a recipient of the Outstanding Student in Human Resource Management Award, the Society for Human Resource Management Scholarship, and the Na Mea Hana City & County of Honolulu Scholarship.

Prior to joining The Pacific Law Group, Ms. Nakasone served a two-year term as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Rhonda A. Nishimura at the First Circuit Court where she assisted the judge with the civil motions calendar, settlement conference calendar, agency appeal calendar, complex-tort asbestos calendar, and the trial calendar.

While in law school, Ms. Nakasone was a member of the Pacific-Asian Legal Studies Organization, Advocates for Public Interest Law, the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity and ETE Bowl.  

Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ms. Nakasone obtained her Bachelor's Degrees in English and Political Science.
